James was born and raised in Elyria, OH, where he fell in love with the sport of soccer at a very young age. He grew up playing in the Midview Soccer Association, as well as Club and Premier teams throughout the area, including Oberlin Soccer, Cleveland United, and finally Excalibur Soccer. During High School James played for Midview High School and was Captain for 3 years, and Offensive Player of the Year twice. After High School, James attended Ohio Northern University, where he played soccer for his Freshman season on the Nationally Ranked Polar Bears, before transferring closer to home. He attended and played for Baldwin-Wallace College for three seasons, where numerous school records were set during his playing career, including being Nationally Ranked each of his three seasons. James graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in History and English.

Following his college career, James focused on coaching his alma mater, where he was the Assistant Varsity Boys coach at Midview High School for a season. James enrolled at The University of Akron, graduating in May 2011 with a Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology. During his graduate school work, James was a preschool teacher in North Olmsted, OH, where he served until April 2012.

In his coaching career, James has been the Head Coach of the Norwalk Girls Varsity Soccer team for five years. The 2011 season was the best of his career when the Lady Truckers finished with a 12-2-2 record, including 12 shutouts, and the lowest Goals Against Average in school history. For his efforts, James was awarded as Coach of the Year by the North Central Ohio Soccer Coaches Association.

Coach Iggy brings over 25 years of playing and coaching experience with him to Ohio Coast Happy Feet and the Ohio Coast Legends. He is excited to bring his two passions together into a very rewarding endeavor; teaching preschool children, and coaching soccer.
